b.h.d Call for Entires: Artists
The Bleeding Heart Design (b.h.d) organization is dedicated to rethinking the bond between architects, artists and designers and the people for whom they create. The purpose of the b.h.d movement is to evoke emotions that spark positivity in the lives of people through designed objects and art, demote negative behavior, promote self-evaluation and encourage people to question the positivity level of their role in society.
This year b.h.d is releasing a Call Entries to artist in the Detroit, Michigan area for an art installation in the Lindale Gardens community of Northeast Detroit. The neighborhood lacks safe community gathering spaces so b.h.d has begun to transform an empty lot into a safe arts and culture gathering space. The art installation/mural will be an addition to this emerging gathering space and serve as an artistic expression of the hopes of community members, along with communicating Lindale Gardens’ neighborhood identity and enhancing the quality of life for residents through public art.
This year’s Call for Entries main design theme is Love + Forgiveness.
